Dr Alan Nye
GPSI Rheumatology/Director
I qualified in Sheffield in 1983 and after completing my GP training became a principle in an inner city practice in Oldham. I helped set up a rheumatology “Tier 2″ in 2002 which became Pennine MSK Partnership in 2006.
I also work as an adviser to the Department of Health initially on the 18 week programme and more recently have become clinical advisor for elective care and diagnostics.
Anne Browne
Nurse Consultant Rheumatology/Director
I qualified as a nurse in 1982 and worked in Orthopaedics and Accident and Emergency Nursing until 1993. I started Rheumatology nursing in 1993 and during my career have completed my Diploma in Nursing, Further Education Teaching Certificate, BA (hons) in Health Studies and an MSc in clinical practice.
I have been part of a strong cohesive multidisciplinary team, and my main interests lie in nursing leadership, care of the chronically ill and service redesign.
I became a Nurse Consultant in Rheumatology in 2001 and jointly led a successful Tier 2 Rheumatology service.
I also lecture on the leadership module of the MSc in Rheumatology.
I joined my two GP Partners to develop an ICAT in 2006, my main focus at the moment is to ensure that our service delivers on the 18 week pathway, whilst maintaining high quality patient focused care.
Dr Hugh Sturgess
GPSI Rheumatology/Director
I have been a GP in Oldham since 1986 and a GP with Special Interest in Musculoskeletal Medicine since 2005. My interest in musculoskeletal medicine began when I undertook post graduate training in Orthopaedics for one year in 1982-1983.
I also have interests in continuous quality improvement and also the commissioning of NHS services.
Ann Todd
Finance and Business Development Director
I have worked in NHS Finance since 1977 in a number of different roles and organisations. I am a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy.
I joined the Oldham Trust in 1987 and held the posts of Financial Accountant, Deputy Director of Finance and then Acting Finance Director for the twelve months prior to the merger of the Oldham Trust into the Pennine Acute Hospitals Trust. In the merged Trust I held the post of Head of Financial Management and Performance.
I joined the Pennine MSK Partnership in June 2007 and have responsibility for the provision of business information, the financial modelling and the liaison with other agencies and contractors to ensure delivery of the service including the18 week RTT pathway.
Ruth Holden
Business Operations Manager
I joined Pennine MSK in May 2009 having had a long career in the banking sector as a Branch Manager, Area Manager for Resource Development and Recruitment Consultant. I am responsible for the operational management of the Administrative Division at Pennine MSK. I lead our customer-care programme and lead on all HR issues including recruitment. I am also responsible for the development of our workforce training policy.
Melanie Taylor
Customer Care Manager
I joined from my previous role as Project Co-ordinator for the Tier 2 Rheumatology Service which commenced in 2003 and later merged with the Tier 2 Orthopaedic Service to form Pennine MSK Partnership in 2006.
In March 2009 we were awarded The Government Standard Customer Service Excellence and my aim is to ensure that we maintain these standards by monitoring, improving and continuing to provide high quality patient focused care.
Louise Hoskyn
Accounts Manager
I have previously worked in the manufacturing industry and joined Pennine MSK Partnership in July 2006. I am responsible for the accounts and wages.
Rachel Chrisham
Business Administrator
I started working for Pennine MSK Partnership Ltd in April 2010, having previously worked for Greater Manchester Police and Oldham MBC. My main role is to provide comprehensive administrative support to the Directors and Senior Managers of the service. I also manage the staff HR files, co-ordinate recruitment and ensure records are maintained and updated.
Sarah Broadbent
Data and Information Manager
I joined Pennine MSK Partnership in March 2006, previously working at Dr Buckley, Nye and Sturgess Medical Practice in Oldham. My current role as Data and Information Manager involves management of the Data Team and lead on the production of effective and accurate information returns. I am also the Company’s IT system trainer, Fire Marshall and Caldicott Guardian.
Linda Ashton
Data Analyst
I joined the Pennine MSK Partnership in Jan 2009 and work as part of the Data Team in the role of Data Analyst having previously worked for British Gas as a Payments Process Analyst.
My main responsibilities include monitoring patients 18 week Referral to Treatment pathways, providing statistical analysis, audits and reports on a monthly basis. Processing of all prescriptions that have been issued by the service each month and submitting the return to the PPA. I also create/cancel and make changes to clinician’s clinics as and when required.
Mark Dronsfield
Data Analyst Support
I joined MSK in October 2010 as Data Analyst Support. As part of the Data Team my role is varied and includes a key role in collating the data that forms part of the information returns for the company. I also co-ordinate and monitor the patients diagnostics including MRI scans and clinicians slot availability.
Amanda Flanagan
Secretarial Team Leader (Team 1)
Prior to coming to Pennine MSK I worked as a secretary for an Oldham GP practice. I came to work for Pennine MSK in November 2009 as a secretary for the orthopaedic team and then became Team Leader for Team 1 in February 2010. In Team 1 we look after the orthopaedic and psychological medicine side of the service, providing secretarial support to the consultants.
Natalie Fineran
Secretary (Team 1)
I started working for Pennine MSK in March 2006, having previously worked for NHS Oldham Tier 2 Service from May 2004. I work on Team 1 as an Orthopaedic Secretary. My role consists of audio typing Consultant clinic letters and preparing patient notes and surgery notes.
Marie Clegg
Secretary (Team 1)
I joined Pennine MSK Partnership in November 2010 as a Secretary on Team 1. My role here consists of typing consultant correspondence, arranging referrals and preparing patient notes for surgery.
Denise Blackhurst
Secretary (Team 1)
I have been working at Pennine MSK Partnership Ltd since May 2008. Initially I worked across all the teams but since February 2010 have been a secretary on Team 1 for the Psychological Medicine and Chronic Pain teams. I work for 3 psychiatrists, 2 therapists and 3 chronic pain physiotherapists. I have previously worked at The Beeches, NHS Oldham, Oldham 6th Form College and Oldham Technical College.

Secretary (Team 1)
I have worked for Pennine MSK since February 2007. My current role is secretary on the Psychological Medicine and Orthopaedic Team.
I previously worked in the Physiotherapy Department at the Royal Oldham Hospital in an admin role.
Julie Reekie
Secretarial Team Leader (Team 2)
I have worked for the NHS for 18 years. I started with the Pennine MSK Partnership as a Secretary/Administrator in September 2006 and I am now Team Leader for Team 2. I previously worked as Steve Young’s (Consultant Physiotherapist) Secretary in the Physiotherapy Department at the Royal Oldham Hospital.
Eileen Wright
Secretary (Team 2)
I work as a Secretary for Pennine MSK Partnership Ltd on Team 2. I have worked here for 18 months as a permanent member of staff since January 2009. I previously worked for an Accountancy firm for 11 years and an Engineering company for 23 years in secretarial positions before being made redundant.
Doreen Cliff
Secretary (Team 2)
I joined Pennine MSK Partnership Ltd on the 15th March 2010 after returning from residing in Spain. I have been office based since leaving school covering many varied aspects of office work. I previously worked as a Motor Claims Handler for 15 years for Royal and Sun Alliance. My role as a Secretary on Team 2 involves typing patient clinic letters for Consultants, clinicians, GP’s and Nurse’s, dealing with patient queries which includes making new, follow up and re-scheduling clinic appointments and also booking transport and Interpreters.

I joined the Company in November 2009 as a Secretary on Team 2. Prior to this, I was Company Secretary and PA to a local Funeral Director.

I am a secretary for Team 2, I joined Pennine MSK in February 2009 and was previously employed by NHS Oldham.
Jenny Harewood
Secretarial Team Leader (Team 3)
I commenced employment with Pennine MSK Partnership in September 2007 as a secretary/administrator. I am now a Team Leader for Team 3 mainly working for the Rheumatology Consultants within the service. I previously worked as a PA for one of the partners at Horwich Farrelly Solicitors in Old Trafford, Manchester for 12 years.

I joined the Pennine MSK Partnership in October 2007, having previously worked as a Secretarial Support Officer in the Oldham M.B.C. Mayor’s Office.

Secretary (Team 3)
I have worked for Pennine MSK since August 2009 and love the varied workload of this fast growing company. I have previously worked as a Legal Secretary.

I joined the partnership in September 2007. I previously worked for the Physiotherapy Department at The Royal Oldham Hospital for 3 years.

I joined Pennine MSK Partnership Ltd in July 2010. I previously worked as a Conveyancing Secretary in a solicitors based in Manchester City Centre
Rebecca Moss

I started working within the service in Sept 2010, having previously worked in an admin role at a local printing company. I work as a Secretary on Team 3 and my role consists of typing up clinic letters, booking appointments and Interpreters and general day to day admin duties.
Julie Booth
Office Assistant
I started working within the service in February 2007 having previously worked for the Yorkshire Bank. My main duties consist of providing administrative support to all secretarial members of Team 3 and clincial staff within the service, I also help patients with any enquiries.

I started working within the service in October 2008 having previously worked at Halifax Bank of Scotland. My main duties consist of providing administrative support to all secretarial members of Team 3 and clinical staff within the service.

I am currently studying for my A Levels at Oldham Sixth Form College and work at Pennine MSK as an Office Assistant during college holidays. I also provide Admin Support in the evening clinics at the Integrated Care Centre.
Tom Reekie

I joined Pennine MSK in July 2007 as Office Assistant and I am currently studying for my BA (hons) Business Management Degree at the University of Huddersfield. I often provide admin cover for consultants during evening clinics and provide support to all members of the admin team on a day-to-day basis.
Mr Muthu Jeyam
Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon (Upper Limb)
I am a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in shoulder & elbow surgery. I was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in 1995. Following this I did full time research at the University of Manchester & obtained a research degree of M-Phil. I then completed my higher surgical training in Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgery from Manchester for which I was awarded the Fellowship of The Royal College of Surgeons in Trauma & Orthopaedics in 2004. I have been a dedicated fellow in learning the art of Shoulder & Elbow Surgery from the prestigious Nottingham Shoulder & Elbow Unit. I also gained valuable experience from a further Fellowship at The Harvard Shoulder Service and The Boston Sports Injury Service, Boston, Massachusetts, USA.
I specialise in arthroscopic (key hole) shoulder and elbow surgery. My practice includes management of patients with upper limb sports injuries. In addition I perform open surgery including arthroplasty (Joint Replacement Surgery) and specialise in complex upper limb trauma and fracture management. I am a member of the British Shoulder & Elbow Society (BESS). I am an honorary clinical lecturer at Salford University.
Jill Firth
Rheumatology Specialist Nurse
I qualified as a nurse in 1989 and worked in Accident and Emergency Nursing then Orthopaedics until 1997. I established the role of Rheumatology Nurse Specialist for Bradford Teaching Hospital NHS Trust in 1997 where I worked for seven years. In 2004 I was awarded a scholarship to undertake a full time PhD at the University of Leeds to look at foot ulceration in patients with rheumatoid arthritis. Following completion of my PhD, I was employed as a as a Senior Research Fellow in Long Term Conditions at the University of Leeds. I joined Pennine MSK in June 2010 and now combine clinical practice with service and staff development, audit and research. I maintain an honorary contract and links with the University of Leeds.
Sarah Critchley
Rheumatology Specialist Nurse
I qualified in adult nursing in 1998 and have worked as a Rheumatology Specialist Nurse for the past 10 years, initally at The Royal Oldham Hospital and the last 3 years within Pennine MSK Partnership. My role incorporates patient education, disease management and assessment.
Kath Kinsey
Rheumatology Specialist Nurse
I qualified as a Nurse in 1996 and began working at The Royal Oldham Hospital in the Cardiology Department and then as a Sister on the Medical Assessment Unit. I then worked as an Osteoporosis Nurse for a number of years and for the last two years as a Rheumatology Nurse within Pennine MSK. I am currently studying for a Masters in Rheumatology.
Karen Partridge
Rheumatology Specialist Nurse
I qualified in 1988 form North Manchester School of Nursing. My background is general surgery, orthopaedic trauma, ICU, HDU, District Nursing and later went on to do my specialist nurse practioner degree. I joined Pennine MSK in July 2006 undertaking the osteoporosis/fracture liason service role and developed into rheumatology.
Danielle Whitmore
Clinical Assessment Nurse
I qualified in 2003 from Salford School of Nursing and worked as a Staff Nurse on the Elective and Trauma Orthopaedic wards at Salford Royal Hospital until joining PMSKP in May 2010 as A Clinical Assessment Nurse. My role mainly involves managing the team of Health Care Assistant staff, Telephone Triaging patient referrals through to an Orthopaedic Surgeon, Triaging from the Choose and Book system from the GP referral through to listing for an Orthopaedic/ Rheumatology Opinion and Covering Orthopaedic, Rheumatology and Specialist Physio Clinics which we run from the ICC in Oldham.

I am 1 of 5 Healthcare Assistants working within Pennine MSK Partnership, I work alongside clinical staff to ensure our patients are provided with an excellent service. I previously worked at Hope Hospital for 6 years gaining a orthopaedic background. Working for this service has allowed me to gain experience in Rheumatology and Physiotherapy as I work alongside specialist clinicians in various clinics on a day-to-day basis.

I joined Pennine MSK in June 2010 as a HealthCare Assistant after previously gaining experience within the NHS in the Stroke Rehabilitation Unit based in Dukinfield. I am qualified to NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care and have over 5 years experience within the industry.
Working as part of our friendly and professional team, we ensure that our patients are provided with the best possible care and service.

I am a Clinical Specialist Occupational Therapist with a specialism in Rheumatology Hand Therapy. I provide extended scope practice such as injections as well as traditional OT interventions such as splinting and advice on improving hand function.

I work as lead clinician for spinal conditions. The consultant role encompasses expert clinical practice, service development, strategic working, consultancy, leadership, research and audit and teaching and education.

Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist (B.Sc.(Hons) MCSP HPC Grad Dip injection Therapy)
I gained a B.Sc (Hons) degree in Physiotherapy from Manchester Victoria University. I am an extended scope practitioner in physiotherapy, have trained to masters level and also hold a post graduate diploma in injection therapy. I have been treating patients in the Oldham and Tameside areas for over 15 years and am HPC and MCSP registered.
Ian Marshall
Clinical Specialist Musculoskeletal Podiatrist
I am a Podiatrist based at the Integrated Care Centre dealing with foot and ankle disorders. I do two electrotherapy clinics every week, and also do one review clinic each week where I see those requiring follow up appointments, at which decisions are made on either discharged, or referred for futher assessment and/or treatment.

I qualified in 1985 and worked in various local hospitals until 1995 when I opened my own private practice in Uppermill. I joined the MSK Partnership at its inception in 2006 and undertake clinics for them in the Integrated Care Centre and from Saddleworth.
I have a Diploma in Injection Therapy and also in Orthopaedic Medicine.

I graduated in 2000 fromSalfordUniversityand worked as an extended scope practitioner atTamesideHospitaluntil moving to work full time at Saddleworth Physiotherapy Clinic in Uppermill. I joined the team at Pennine MSK in 2008 and work both at the ICC and in Uppermill.
I have a Diploma in Injection Therapy and am also a McKenzie Accredited Physiotherapist in mechanical therapy and diagnosis.

I have been qualified for 22 years. I work as an extended scope practitioner in A&E , orthopaedics and the ICATS service. I tend to specialise in lower limb conditions but see have a variety of cases.

I have experience in all aspects of Podiatry. I spent several years in London working for NHS treating almost exclusively high risk patients. Now practicing privately at R.C & G.M Tennant Ltd, Oldham with a broad scope of practice including biomechanics and nail surgery.

I am a local GP and spend 1 day a week working for MSK as a GP with Special Interest in rheumatological problems.
