This is an exciting opportunity for a pharmacist to work in an award winning rheumatology service. The Pennine MSK Partnership is commissioned by Oldham CCG to provide rheumatology, orthopaedics to the point of listing and persistent pain services to the people of Oldham.  The post holder will carry out pharmacist-led rheumatology out-patient clinics to deliver patient education, monitor response to medicines and promote and deliver the best clinical practice in line with local and national guidelines. This includes as an autonomous practitioner being responsible for decisions about the clinical management of patients, co-ordinating the delivery of homecare medicines and working with the multi-disciplinary team to ensure clinical and cost effective prescribing of biological and biosimilar medicines.

Candidates are required to hold a Master of Pharmacy Degree or equivalent, and be registered as a pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC). Evidence of post-graduate clinical training is required (e.g. a clinical pharmacy diploma or equivalent foundation pharmacy framework training) and an independent prescribing qualification is desirable, although the successful candidate will be supported in attaining this if not held.

As Team Leader you will lead and motivate a small team of secretaries in providing outstanding administrative support to clinical staff, this includes typing dictation, outcoming clinics, telephone answering, coding, creating new referrals, booking appointments and any other admin duties deemed necessary. You will manage and coordinate your team’s workflow on a daily basis to ensure that all team targets for turnaround of work is achieved, you will act as a first point of contact for your team with operational and personnel/HR related queries and conduct performance reviews.

You will work alongside your team in providing the above administrative support to our clinicians therefore excellent typing skills are essential.

You will work with the other team leaders and the Business Operations Manager to design and implement pathways and processes to ensure we deliver a consistently high standard of administrative support across the whole service.

A background in working for an NHS organisation or in the medical field is desirable but not essential.

You must be willing to undertake training to upskill yourself to enable you to fulfil the requirements of the job role.
