Dr Alan Nye
GPSI Rheumatology
I qualified in Sheffield in 1983 and became a partner in a General Practice in Oldham in 1987. Shortly after this I became a clinical assistant in rheumatology at the Royal Oldham Hospital.
I have also had a long-standing interest in the management of drug addiction and through this becoming Oldham PCTs lead for commissioning for addiction in 2000 and I chair the Joint Commissioning Group of Oldham's DAT. Through this I became involved in the commissioning of the Tier 2 services in Oldham in 2002, and I led on the development of a rheumatology Tier 2 service.
After completing my diploma in rheumatology I became a GPSI in 2003 and led on the transfer of the tier 2 service into an ICATS in 2006. We are a Care Closer to Home demonstrator site, and I am a project lead for 18w RTT at the Department of Health. I also sit on the National Orthopaedic Co-ordinating Group as well as the Clinical Advisory Group for the 18 week project.
My work at the Department of Health is primarily around orthopaedic pathways, workforce development to deliver 18w and quality of life measures in patient pathways.
I also lecture on the leadership module of the MSc in Rheumatology.

Anne Browne
Nurse Consultant Rheumatology
I qualified as a nurse in 1982 and worked in Orthopaedics and Accident and Emergency Nursing until 1993. I started Rheumatolgy nursing in 1993 and during my career have completed my Diploma in Nursing, Further Education Teaching Certificate, BA (hons) in Health Studies and an MSc in clinical practice.
I have been part of a strong cohesive multidisciplinary team, and my main interests lie in nursing leadership, care of the chronically ill and service redesign.
I became a Nurse Consultant in Rheumatolgy in 2001 and jointly led a successful tier 2 Rheumatology service.
I also lecture on the leadership module of the MSc in Rheumatology.
I joined my two GP Partners to develop an ICAT in 2006, my main focus at the moment is to ensure that our service delivers on the 18 week pathway, whilst maintaining high quality patient focused care.

Dr Hugh Sturgess
GPSI Rheumatology
I have been a GP in Oldham since 1986 and a GP with Special Interest in Musculoskeletal Medicine since 2005. My interest in musculoskeletal medicine began when he undertook post graduate training in Orthopaedics for one year in 1982-1983.
I also have interests in continuous quality improvement and also the commissioning of NHS services.

Ann Todd
Finance Director
I have worked in NHS Finance since 1977 in a number of different roles and organisations. I am a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy.
I joined the Oldham Trust in 1987 and held the posts of Financial Accountant, Deputy Director of Finance and then Acting Finance Director for the twelve months prior to the merger of the Oldham Trust into the Pennine Acute Hospitals Trust. In the merged Trust I held the post of Head of Financial Management and Performance.
I joined the Pennine MSK Partnership in June 2007 and have responsibility for the management of the administrative team, the provision of business information, the financial modelling and the liaison with other agencies and contractors to ensure delivery of the service including the18 week RTT pathway.

Melanie Taylor
Service Manager
I joined from my previous role as Project Co-ordinator for the Tier 2 Rheumatology Service which commenced in 2003 and later merged with the Tier 2 Orthopaedic Service to form Pennine MSK Partnership in 2006.
I act as central point of contact for all members of the service maintaining effective communication and networking in the Primary Care Trust and Secondary Care setting and manages the team of administrators.

I prepare patients for forthcoming surgery and support specialist nurses with patient rheumatological problems. I am currently studying for a BSC in Health Sciences.

I started work as Typist/Admin Clerk for MSK ICAT based at the new Glodwick Primary Care Centre in October 2007. I moved into my current role as Pre-Operative Secretary, still based in Glodwick PCC, in April 2008. These are my only experiences of working within the NHS.

Data Analyst
I began my career in the NHS in 2004 at the Referral Information Centre. During that time I completed my NVQ Level 3 in Business Admin.
In early 2007 I was offered a Secondment opportunity with Oldham PCT, working with the System Reform and Innovation Team as a Primary Support Officer. My main responsibility was to assist GP Practices with the implementation of Choose and Book –this was both challenging and rewarding.
Whilst with Oldham PCT, I attended several Choose and Book and Lorenzo courses in order to further develop my knowledge within that area, and I have successfully become an Accredited Choose and Book Trainer.
In December 2007 I joined the MSK Partnership as the teams Data Analyst.
I am responsible for monitoring 18 Week RTT pathways, and producing monthly data required using the ICATS-PMS Database.
I am the first point of call for any clinic changes/cancellations. I set new clinics up and make them directly bookable with Choose and Book if necessary.

Ian Marshall
Senior Podiatrist - Musculoskeletal Dirorders
I am a Podiatrist based at Cannon St Health Centre dealing with foot and ankle disorders. I do two electrotherapy clinics every week, and also do one review clinic each week where I see those requiring follow up appointments, at which decisions are made on either discharged, or referred for futher assessment and/or treatment.
