Patient Support Groups
National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society Support Group 
Aim: To bring together people living with Rheumatoid Arthritis to share information, mutual support and to progress improvements in patient care within our local area.
NRAS is encouraging people with Rheumatoid Arthritis living in the area to attend meetings and find out more about their disease, local rheumatology services and the invaluable services on offer from NRAS.
NRAS – helping people living with RA to have a better life by:
- Providing a comprehensive website with information on RA from health professionals
- Offering information on living with the condition and better self management
- Providing a free-phone helpline, available 9.30 to 4.30, Monday to Friday
- Contributing to improving standards of care for RA
- Lobbying the Government for a better deal for people living with RA in theUK
- Being a one-stop shop for people with RA.
Oldham NRAS Group aims to provide:
- A meeting point for people living with RA, to network and support one another, reducing the isolation felt by some
- A means of ongoing patient education and improvement of disease self management
- A strong “patient voice” in your area
These meetings are to be held at St John’s ambulance Headquarters, Busk Road, Oldham, OL9 6QY, 7:00pm – 8:30pm, on the following dates:

- 24th April 2012
- 26th June 2012
- 28th August 2012
- 30th October 2012

Challenging Arthritis
We have commissioned this lay led self management programme for people with all forms of arthritis from Arthritis Care. The first course of 6 weekly sessions is due to start on 29th February 2012 and will be held at the Link Centre, Union Street, Oldham. There are still places available – if you have arthritis and you are interested in improving your skills to self manage the condition please contact Arthritis Care directly on 01924 882156 to reserve a place.

Pennine MSK Partnership Ltd is looking for new members to join our Patient Participation Group. If you attend our service for regular treatment we would like to invite you to be involved. So why not come along to discuss your ideas and hear about any new developments.
Meetings will be held 3 or 4 times per year at NHS Oldham Integrated Care Centre, New Radcliffe Street, Oldham OL1 1NL.
